Tumbling Tots
Gymnastics
This gymnastic class will introduce progressive movement, basic elements of dance and tumbling in a format designed for very young gymnasts. This course is for 4 & 5 year olds and runs for one hour a week for six weeks. Skills to be taught include: group stretching exercises, frog stand, bunny hop, scale, backbend, straight leap, straight jump, beginning dance movements.
Tuesdays starting, May 9 –
Beginner I
Gymnastics
This class is designed for ages 6 – 9 that are new to gymnastics. This class will teach progressive skills focusing on correct form in tumbling and dance. Students will be introduced to scale, somersault, cartwheel, backbend, handstand, passé, split leap, full turn, tuck jump, and basic dance elements movements and how to connect them into a fluid, graceful pattern.
Tuesdays starting, May 9 –
Beginner II
Gymnastics
This class will focus on the same skill level as the beginner I class but will be offered for those students age 10 – 13. It is a good introductory course for students who would like to develop tumbling skills for cheerleading too. Students will be introduced to scale, somersault, cartwheel, backbend, handstand, passé, split leap, full turn, tuck jump, and basic dance elements movements and how to connect them into a fluid, graceful pattern.
Thursdays starting, May 11-
Intermediate
Gymnastics
The intermediate class is for the student who has mastered the cartwheel and has some tumbling and dance experience. The skills taught in this class are progressive and build on skills taught in the beginner’s class. Students will learn round offs, front and back walkovers, switch cartwheels (and other variations of cartwheel), dive rolls, advanced leaps and jumps and flexibility skills.
